"Paso" of the Angel of the Passion, sculpture
Life-size polychrome wood carving. It was first paraded for the first time on 31 March 2012 and since then it has been the first adult statue to begin Easter Week in Murcia.
“The procession is opened by the Banner of the Brotherhood, and its first Brotherhood is the Children's Brotherhood, made up of sixty children who escort the Angel of the Passion, which was unveiled on Friday of Sorrows, 31 March 2012, the work of the sculptor from Yecla, Rafael Roses Rivadavia, who lives in Barcelona, in 1996.”
"The Angel is carved in polychrome wood, gilded and with a richly flowered and stewed tunic. He spreads his wings to the wind being an ethereal being, with a non-human face, he directs his melancholic gaze to his hand where he holds the Holy Chalice of the Passion and his left hand points to heaven to the eternal father.”
